JOMO Sports is the brain child of Johan Lindstrom. From an early stage, Johan has been passionate about sports and events. From backyard ski events for the neighborhood kids, it quickly became larger and more elaborate events growing up in the ski town of Åre, Sweden.
In the early 90´s, being part of a dedicated group who was convinced mountain biking was the future of the ski resort, numerous trails and runs was hand built on the steep slopes of the mountain Areskutan.
Throughout the 1990's a number of international mountain bike events was held in Åre. culminating with the 1999 UCI Mountain Bike World Championships.
From 2000 to 2011, Johan worked a the International Cycling Union (UCI) as the BMX and Trials Coordinator, with the main objective to develop the sport of BMX and trials.
To increase the awareness of BMX racing, Johan was instrumental developing the 'BMX Supercross' format, customized to adhere to the high demand of the elite riders and making the sport adapted to a more TV and spectator friendly format. This new format was also crucial for BMX to become an Olympic discipline in 2008.
